Terms & Conditions

Throughout these Terms & Conditions, "the Organiser" refers to Andrea Bowers Home Organising.

1. About the Service

Andrea Bowers Home Organising provides professional decluttering and home organising services designed to help create calmer, more manageable living spaces.

Services may include decluttering, organising, unpacking, paperwork organisation, wardrobe organisation, storage solutions, and general home organisation support tailored to your individual needs.

Where appropriate, Andrea Bowers Home Organising may collaborate with other professional organisers on larger projects or where additional support would benefit the client. Any such arrangement will always be discussed and agreed with the client in advance.

For clients’ reassurance, Andrea Bowers Home Organising is fully DBS checked, ICO registered, and insured through Westminster Insurance.

2. Confidentiality & Privacy

Your privacy is extremely important.

All client information and circumstances will be treated with complete confidentiality and discretion. Any examples discussed with future clients will always remain anonymous and unidentifiable.

Photographs may be taken during an in-home consultation or organising session to record the condition of the space, monitor progress and assist with planning where appropriate.

Any use of photographs for marketing or promotional purposes will only take place with the client's separate written consent.

Andrea Bowers Home Organising is registered with the ICO and complies with UK data protection regulations.

3. Initial Consultation

Andrea Bowers Home Organising offers a free initial telephone consultation to discuss your requirements and how we may be able to work together.

For larger or more complex projects, an in-home consultation may be recommended. This is charged at £40, payable in advance, and allows time to assess the space, discuss your goals and provide a realistic estimate of the time likely to be required.

For smaller projects, it may be possible to provide an estimate from photographs and the free initial telephone consultation, without the need for an in-home visit.

If you decide to go ahead and book an organising session within 30 days of the consultation, the £40 consultation fee will be deducted from your first invoice.

Any estimated number of hours or costs provided before a project begins are intended as a guide only and do not constitute a fixed quotation. The actual time required will depend on factors such as the volume of items, the level of decision-making involved, client participation during the session and any unforeseen circumstances. If additional time is required, this will always be discussed and agreed with you before work continues.

4. Fees & Payment

4.1 Session Rates

Sessions are charged at £40 per hour.

A minimum booking of 3 hours applies.

Discounted organising packages are available for larger or ongoing projects:

• 10-hour organising package – £375
• 24-hour organising package – £860

Packages are payable in full in advance and may be used flexibly across multiple sessions.

Sessions must be booked in minimum 3-hour blocks, and all package hours must be used within 3 months of the purchase date.

Any unused package hours remaining after this period will expire and are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed at the Organiser's discretion.

Evening or weekend sessions may incur an additional charge where agreed in advance.

4.2 Travel & Additional Costs

Travel within the local East Sussex area is included.

Additional travel charges, parking costs, or accommodation (for longer-distance or multi-day projects) will always be discussed and agreed in advance.

If you would like Andrea Bowers Home Organising to source storage products or organising materials on your behalf, these costs will be added to your final invoice once approved by you.

4.3 Payment Terms

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking in order to secure your session date.

The remaining balance is payable within 7 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Payment can be made by bank transfer and, where available, a payment link can also be provided for your convenience.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.

Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may result in the loss of the 50% booking deposit.

Same-day cancellations may be charged in full.

For clients using a discounted organising package, the same cancellation terms apply. Where a package session is cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, the session may be forfeited or rearranged at the Organiser's discretion and subject to availability.

If Andrea Bowers Home Organising arrives for a booked session and no one is present at the property, the booking deposit will be forfeited. Where a discounted organising package has been purchased, the scheduled session may be deducted from the remaining package hours.

In the event Andrea Bowers Home Organising needs to postpone or cancel a session due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to illness, severe weather, accidents, transport disruption or other unforeseen events, an alternative appointment will be offered as soon as reasonably possible.

6. Client Responsibility

You remain fully responsible for decisions regarding your possessions throughout the decluttering process.

No items will be removed, donated or disposed of without your permission.

If items belonging to another person are involved, permission from the owner should be obtained before any decisions are made.

Andrea Bowers Home Organising is not a house clearance or waste removal service. Clients remain responsible for arranging the disposal, collection or donation of unwanted items.

Where required, the Organiser can assist by coordinating charity collections, arranging donations, booking licensed waste removal or disposal services, or helping you organise suitable collection options.

The client is responsible for ensuring that the Organiser has safe and reasonable access to the property for the duration of the booked session.

7. Health & Safety

For health and safety reasons, heavy lifting or moving large furniture or appliances cannot usually be undertaken.

Clients are asked to advise in advance of anything that may affect safe working conditions, including access issues or pets within the home.

Loft work can only be undertaken where there is safe and suitable access, including a proper loft ladder and adequate boarding, flooring and lighting where appropriate. For health and safety reasons, loft organising sessions may require two organisers and this will be discussed and agreed in advance.

For personal safety reasons, details of session locations, timings and client contact information may be shared with Andrea Bowers Home Organising’s partner solely for safety and welfare purposes. This information will remain confidential and will not be shared with any other third parties.

Andrea Bowers Home Organising reserves the right to end a session if the environment is considered unsafe or if inappropriate behaviour occurs.

8. Flat Pack Furniture Assembly

Where agreed in advance, Andrea Bowers Home Organising may assist with light flat pack furniture assembly as part of an organising session.

Clients are responsible for ensuring all parts, fittings and instructions are available prior to the session.

Large, complex, wall-mounted, electrical or specialist installations are not undertaken.

Andrea Bowers Home Organising cannot accept responsibility for manufacturing defects, missing parts, or faults relating to the furniture supplied.

9. Insurance & Liability

Andrea Bowers Home Organising holds Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance through Westminster Insurance.

Whilst every care is taken when handling your belongings, accidental damage can occasionally occur. Andrea Bowers Home Organising cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage unless caused by negligence.

Advice and guidance are provided in good faith; however all final decisions remain the responsibility of the client.

10. Emotional Wellbeing

Decluttering can sometimes feel emotional or overwhelming. Sessions are carried out in a calm, supportive and judgement-free manner, working at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

11. Pets & Children

For safety reasons and to allow sessions to run as smoothly and effectively as possible, young children should ideally not be present during organising sessions unless the session is specifically focused on organising their bedroom or personal space.

Children and pets should be supervised appropriately throughout the session where possible.

12. Breaks During Sessions

Short comfort breaks are included within session time. Longer lunch breaks are not charged.

13. Agreement

By booking a session with Andrea Bowers Home Organising, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
